Table arrangement for mum. January 30, 2007

My mum’s got a lovely office table, lots of space and lots of light. Made her a really sweet, girly table arrangement for my mum. Just so that each time she looks at it, she’ll cheer up just a little bit more. ( And remember her equally sweet daughter. *grins* ). Love you ma.
Its a 3D arrangement, so it looks great just about from any angle. But I placed the ribbons in front, just so that there’s some focus.

Lovely bouquets. January 29, 2007

So Sunday was visit-to-the-wholesalers day. Yippeee. Spent the evening making all arrangements will all these gorgeous roses and gerberas. I like. Preview for Valentine’s day:)
- 5 pink roses in a bouquet
- 3 pink and white gerberas, with Rochers in a bouquet
- 12 red roses in a bouquet
The red rose bouquet is my fav. ( and a hit with all my colleagues as well! ) The baby’s breath and the red roses exude a certain romantic feel that only flowers can bring out. Pictures not too bright though, took them at night. Can’t wait to make more, I’m on a roll!

Work has been really crazy these past 2 weeks and its been really hard to make that trip down to the wholesalers:( Usually, i try to make that weekly trip and not succumb to buying flowers elsewhere, just because it makes that trip all the more fun. But my free days have been so consumed by work and the usual that I’ve not gone down in what seems like ages, and I’m suffering from flower withdrawal symptoms. The good thing about this is that my creative juices are on overdrive and I can think of so many different arrangements that I can come up with. Watch this space!

Elegant Single Flower arrangement January 18, 2007

I wanted to have a simple yet elegant arrangement on a table where we put all the family pics and came up with this creation. I like the idea of a big leaf against a single flower, and this is one which can stand on its own.
Have just been asked to come up with a pink rose flower arrangement for a guy friend of mine. He chose the colour and the flowers himself, so it saved me the headache of trying to come up with a “macho” floral arrangement. If there ever is such a thing. Lol.

Blue Hydrangea arrangement for P. January 17, 2007

Inspired by the blue hydrangeas that I spoke of the last time, I decided to make a floral arrangement for P. Combined them with yellow roses and some fillers, it turned out to be a quaint table arrangement. Coincidentally, the flowers turned out to be colours of the company that P works for. And as my cousin noted, also the colours of our alma mater

Festive Season in Little India January 15, 2007

Went to Little India over the weekend and was pleasantly surprised by all the new flower shops which have sprouted up during the Pongal Festive Season.
I’d like to learn how to make these intricate garlands. I’ve seen the nimble hands working their magic and always wondered how they move their fingers so deftly. I’m going to try and learn how to make a simple one first. Will put up a picture soon!
And hopefully, it’ll look half as nice as these:)

orders for valentine’s day. January 8, 2007

I’m going to start taking orders for Valentine’s day. Yes, it’s a month away and I was quite surprised when I saw gifts out at many local stores, over the wekend, but isn’t it the next festive occasion?
Will be offering some packages, but personalised orders are more than welcome.
This will be a non-alcoholic one. A bottle of sparking grape juice, wrapped up and a bouquet of flowers.
For the wine connoisseur. A bottle of red wine, wrapped up and and a bouquet of flowers.
For the chocolate lover. A box of Ferrero Rocher chocs, or imported dark chocs, and a bouquet of flowers.
The all-in-one. A hamper with a bottle of red wine ( or sparkling grape juice ), chocolates, and a flower arrangement, all in a decorated basket.
The choice of flowers and colours that you want are left entirely up to you. I’ll also be creating individual flower bouquets for those of you who prefer the flowers on their own. The bouqets will come in a variety of sizes, from a single rose, or single gerbera bouquet, to a large number of roses/gerberas in a bouquet. Do mail me with orders, there’s an early bird discount! (The email add to mail to is in the about section of the blog.)
p.s. You can choose to have white wine, or sparkling rose wine ( I like this kind. *grins* ) instead of the red.
Till then, smelling the roses.
S and R’s wedding. January 5, 2007

I’m quite excited, have gotten orders for an ROM, wedding and a dinner reception. The theme will be blue, and the wedding’s quite some time away, so i’ve got quite a bit of time to do some research as well as speak with the couple to get some ideas as to what they would like to see. When I think of blue, hydrangeas come to mind.
I like the way they form nicely into simple bouquet. Off to do get some supplies, I’m inspired!
Till then, smelling the roses.
